COPARENTING CONSULTATION

Coparenting consultation sessions provide a respectful environment for both parents to share their concerns and develop a written plan of action. This is a form of alternative dispute resolution that uses coparenting focused education to aid in communication between parents to promote settlement of disputes and better understanding of coparenting issues. This process assists in designing a coparenting plan that outlines current and future details regarding how you are going to raise your child between their two homes.

Stepparent and Relative Adoptions

In a way to help achieve permanency for children, we strive to complete thorough and succinct private adoption evaluations. I work with step-parents, grandparent, relatives and others in completing their adoption evaluations. These evaluations were previously known as "home studies". While we do observe the home, we will also interview everyone who lives in the home (full-time or part-time) and assess the safety of the child in the home to evaluate the permanency needs for the child. This is completed according to the Texas Family Code and in a way to evaluate the best interest of the child.
